Park/Playground Renewal
Grovenor Park Playground Update as of July 20, 2017
The playground renewal project is now well underway. The demolition and recovery of equipment has been completed and survey work for the subsurface drainage has also been completed. We will be seeing work on that system and the import of gravel next week. The contractor will then work on the light poles, the concrete infill bits, planting of trees, and the remaining demo of benches.
The install of the playground equipment is scheduled for late August, which should take about 10 days to complete. The rubber surfacing should then be started in early September, which is also expected to take approximately ten days to complete, depending on the weather.
At this point in time, the City manager is hoping to turn over the new playground to Grovenor in late September, but this could actually be as late as mid October, depending on the weather, contracting issues, etc.
Brad Mielke, Grovenor's project lead person has been invited by the City to attend the weekly site meetings in order to stay apprised of the progress and schedule.
Thank you for your continued patience in the important community project.
Should you have any questions, suggestions or concerns please contact the committee at grovenorpark @ me.com or contact any of the Community League Executive and they will gladly pass along your comments.
